Time-trip back to 1970 and you'll find a certain beagle obsessed with downing his archenemy in dog-to-man air combat. The team at Hot Wheels® Design, however, had their feet firmly planted on the ground when they created their awesomely wicked version of the Red Baron. This icon of evil is back once again, updated for 2009 as the HWC™ Series Eight Neo-Classics™ Red Baron!

The Red Baron was originally designed by Tom Daniel for Monogram. The road to the Hot Wheels® shelves, however, required three distinct turns, beginning in 1968 when Monogram introduced a model kit of the stylized hot-rod that incorporated a WWI German infantry helmet and an Iron Cross motif on the radiator. Then, in 1969, Chuck Miller built a working 1:1 version of the car. Finally, in 1970, the Hot Wheels® casting launched, bringing it back full circle to fan desktops everywhere.

It has appeared several times over the years, most recently in the Hot Wheels® Classics Series 4 line. Now, it's reincarnated as part of HWC™ Series Eight and has received a complete
Neo-Classics™ makeover. This time, the model arrives dressed in Spectraflame® red finish and
Neo-Classics™ Redline® wheels. With features like these, it's ready to do battle for its rightful spot in your collection!

  • Spectraflame® red finish
  • Neo-Classics™ Redline® wheels (straight axles)
  • Black rear axle and grille details
  • Full-metal, chrome-plated base, engine, and helmet
  • Gray interior
  • Silver-painted guns

Produced in quantities to be announced later, the
HWC™ Series Eight Neo-Classics™ Red Baron comes with an individually numbered holographic sticker and ships in a Hot Wheels® Kar Keepers™ case.
