The year 2009 was the 40th anniversary of the 1969 line of Hot Wheels® cars, and that got us thinking. It's time to retool that Custom AMC AMX that collectors have been clamoring for! What better way to bring back such an outstanding example of vintage Hot Wheels® history than as the membership car for the 2010 Red Line Club™ here at HWC™? Get ready to renew or sign up, cause here it comes −− in four different colors!
The Membership Kit
The first benefit to being an RLC™ member is the membership kit. The kit you receive with your membership includes the following exclusive items:
- A Red Line Club™ Exclusive membership car. We've retooled the Custom AMC AMX −− not released since 1971 −− including an opening hood, Neo-Classics™ Redline® wheels, and a full-metal, chrome-plated chassis! There will be four different color variations, released as follows:
- First 3,500 to join or renew: Custom AMC AMX in chrome
- Next 4,500 to join or renew: Custom AMC AMX in red
- Next 5,500 to join or renew: Custom AMC AMX in blue
- Next 6,500 to join or renew: Custom AMC AMX in purple
Please note: The color of the car is not determined by your RLC™ number; it is determined by the order in which membership requests are received. Your existing membership number will remain the same as long as you renew it each year.

HWC™ Series Cars − Priority Window
Our spectacular online series of cars continues this year with HWC™ Series Nine −− six
Neo-Classics™ and six Real Riders® releases. There will be some stunning editions this year, including a few first-time retools! You will not want to be left out when these offers become available; you want to be sure to have your Red Line Club™ membership. These will be harder to get this year, so plan accordingly.
A major benefit of RLC™ membership is the customary 24-hour Priority Window during most of our sales, including all of the HWC™ Series Nine offers. Only RLC™ members can order during the first 24 hours on sales with the Priority Window. Some offers may sell out during that period and, if you're not in the RLC™, you'll be left behind. Membership is your best chance to get your hands on these very limited items!
What are some of the radical releases we have planned for this year? First off, we'll be retooling more than just the Custom AMC AMX… Look for the return of vintage favorites such as the Mountain Goat™ (formerly the Grass Hopper), the Ford J-Car (from the original 16!), and the Superfine Turbine™! Some special favorites will return this year: the '67 Camaro® and the Volkswagen Drag Truck! And there's more than we can tell you right now!
RLC™ Exclusive Cars
The triumphant RLC™ sELECTIONs™ series will make an appearance this year with two exclusive editions −− chosen with direct input from our RLC™ members! It's your chance to participate in the creation process, helping us choose color and wheels, too. Only club members get to vote for these, and we only offer them to club members when they become available. You have to vote if you want to see the car you're pulling for in the winner's circle. The polls take place in the special sELECTIONs™ Forum on our Message Boards.
We also manage occasionally to sneak in other RLC™ Exclusive releases just for fun. Whenever this happens, you'll definitely want to make sure you're a member in good standing.
RLC™ Rewards Program
This year, we'll be continuing our RLC™ Rewards program! Whenever you order any of our 12 HWC™ Series Nine releases (Neo-Classics™ or Real Riders® cars) during the RLC™ 24-hour Priority Window, you will earn Rewards Points for each car you buy. You will also earn Points for each car you buy from the two RLC™ Exclusive sELECTIONs™ cars created this year. We'll also dole out Points for other releases. We'll have more details for you later, but the thing to remember is that you can't get any Points if you aren't in the club!
You're wondering what to do with all those points? For one thing, we will again offer our amazing assortment of RLC™ Rewards Priority Cars! All you need to get these special vehicles is Rewards Points. Each of these cars will be made to order (similar to the sELECTIONs™ vehicles) −− meaning that each RLC™ member will determine which of the Rewards cars they want, and we'll make the quantities you order. We'll reveal the designs for these cars later in the year, so watch for them! So join the club, don't forget to place your orders for HWC™ Series Nine cars during the RLC™ 24-hour Priority Window, and don't miss the RLC™ sELECTIONs™ ordering weeks.
RLC™ Exclusive Content
Only Red Line Club™ members can access certain extra special content and areas of HWC™ −− such as the RLC™ Sneak Peeks, sELECTIONs™ updates, early versions of upcoming site additions and other inside looks at this hobby and our Hot Wheels® products! You will also find RLC™ Only forums −− including the sELECTIONs™ polls −− on our Message Boards. Don't forget to sign in and check the Home Page regularly… If you're not in, you're left out!

Red Line Club™ memberships are limited to no more than five per household and are only valid for one calendar year. Current RLC™ members will have one week to renew before the club opens for all HWC™ members to join. Memberships are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
